Privacy Policy

The L.A.U.G.H.™ App

The L.A.U.G.H. application (the App) and the services and products offered therein (collectively, the “Service”) is an App for children of all ages to engage in art-based mindfulness activities. While using the App, children will practice mindful breathing and create and share art work. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install the App or use the Service.

Personal Information the Service Collects

When you install the L.A.U.G.H. App, we do not collect any personal information from you.

Once you have installed the L.A.U.G.H. App and use the Service, we do not collect any personal information from you or about you.

When you use the Service to upload creative assets including, but not limited to, images, videos, and text, we store these creative assets on third party cloud storage networks, in particular the Google Cloud Platform.  By installing the L.A.U.G.H. App and using the Service, you agree to abide by the Google Cloud Platform Privacy Policy (available at: https://cloud.google.com/security/privacy) and the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service (available at: https://cloud.google.com/terms).  We also agree to, and do, abide by the Google Cloud Platform Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If your use of the Service is found to be in violation of the Google Cloud Platform Privacy Policy or The Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service, we reserve the right to take appropriate corrective action, including, but not limited to, suspension or permanent deactivation of your account on the Service in order to ensure our compliance with the policies and practices of our third party cloud storage provider.

Information We May Collect From You

The L.A.U.G.H. App uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics. This information helps us understand how the App is being used, so we can make improvements and correct errors.

The following information is collected:

  • Duration of time on each sequence

  • How often the skip or return to home actions are taken

  • Specified volume when the App launches

  • Choices in the drawing panel

  • If the App should crash, a report is sent to help us understand the issue

The App version used, the iOS version used, and the type of device is also collected. Please note that no personal information is collected. No location data is collected, except for the name of the country you are in when using the app. All information collected is completely anonymous. Google Analytics does not collect the UDID of your device.

These types of statistics help us develop a better App and improve your user experience.  You  may stop all statistics collection from all Google Analytics-enabled apps on your device. The Catherine Mayer Foundation does not disclose any personal information to third parties, except to comply with lawful requests from authorities, as more fully set out in the Terms and Conditions of Use.  The anonymous usage statistics collected using Google Analytics is governed by the Privacy Policy of Google LLC: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

For children under the age of thirteen (13):

  • No personal information will be collected until the consent of the legal representative of the child has been obtained.

  • No personal data will be released to third persons without express consent from the legal representative of the child.

Publication and Ownership of Pictures and Artwork

The artwork, photographs, and other works of artistic expression (“User Content”) provided by the user while using the Service will not be published or made available to the public.  This User Content is retained on the third party server and available only for playback and only to the User. Ownership of the User Content will remain at all times with the user.

No publication, sale, or transmission of personal data and the User Content in any form or for other purposes will be made.

Changes

We may change this Privacy Policy every now and then. But when we do, we’ll let you know one way or another. You will always be able to tell if we have issued a more recent version by checking out the Last Updated date that appears at the top or bottom of the Privacy Policy.  The most recent version of the Privacy Policy is available at: [http://www.thecatherinemayerfoundation.org/the-laugh-app/privacy-policy/].  Updated versions of the Privacy Policy supersede all previous versions of the Privacy Policy.  And sometimes we may provide you with additional notice, like adding a statement on the Service’s homepage or sending you an email.
